Project Description

An honorable mention in the 2019 Bethel Woods Center for the Arts “Peace, Love and Posters” contest, my illustrated piece tells the narrative legacy of diversity and community of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. The entire piece is hand drawn, featuring the classic Woodstock totem pole still standing on the festival grounds but in place of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jerry Garcia, I illustrated a woman in hijab, a person of color and someone gender-nonconforming.  The inscription “50 More Years of Peace And Love” is intended to encourage progressive movements of inclusivity and acceptance.
